What characters actually receive

A reply is generated from the character profile, the campaign summary captured when that chat thread began, the current relationship graph, saved character memory, and a recent window of that thread's messages. Prosopeion sends this context to Google Gemini; the model does not independently know your complete campaign.

What can go wrong

• A character may invent a detail that is absent from your lore.
• It may misread a relationship, motive, tone, or ambiguous instruction.
• Older conversation details can fall outside the recent chat window unless they are saved as memory.
• Saved memory is an AI-generated summary, so it can omit nuance or summarize something incorrectly.
• Different generations can produce different answers from the same context.

How memory works today

Chat history is stored with its thread. When you ask Prosopeion to save a conversation to memory, Gemini extracts concise facts and events into that character's structured memory. The character's recent-event memory retains up to 50 summarized events. Trivial conversation may be left out by design.

Memory belongs to the individual character. The relationship graph and campaign summary provide shared world context, but one character does not automatically receive the private transcript of another character's conversation.

Keep control of your canon

Treat generated dialogue as a performance, not a canon database. Keep important facts in campaign and character fields, review saved memory, and correct information when the model gets it wrong. Do not rely on Prosopeion for professional advice or factual claims about the real world.

The public demo is smaller

The no-account homepage demo uses predefined character profiles and a short temporary conversation window. It does not save memory between characters or demonstrate every continuity feature available in an account.
